Lubrication Engineers Inc. has launched a new MONOLEC Engine Oil specifically for the landfill power generation market. The LE 8947 & LE 8949 MONOLEC Landfill Gas Engine Oils (SAE 40) are high-performance straight-grade medium ash engine oils developed for landfill gas pumping engines and generation units. They are also recommended for stationary and mobile engines using sour fuels and spark plug ignited engines that have an operating range of up to 3,000 horsepower.

LE 8947 and LE 8949 have been formulated with salicylate chemistry which offers superior deposit control & resistance to oil nitration which results in extended lubricant drain intervals. Importantly they also contain LE's exclusive wear reducing additive MONOLEC as well as increased wear control additives which greatly reduce friction, heat and wear.

Key product features/benefits for these new landfill gas engine oils include:

·        Improved resistance to halogen gas contamination which is often present in landfill gas.

·        Minimizes deposits caused by landfill gas.

·        Efficient detergent/dispersant additives to keep engines clean.

·        Valve seat recession is minimized.

·        Designed for engines requiring medium ash levels, yet a high TBN.

·        Provides decreased oil consumption resulting in lower maintenance & operating costs.

LE 8947 and LE 8949 MONOLEC Landfill Gas Engine Oils (SAE 40) meet the performance requirements of many of the landfill gas engine original equipment manufacturers including: Caterpillar (3600), Cummins, Deutz, Ingersol, GE Jenbacher 1000-0125, Wartsila and Waukesha. LE 8947 field trials in Caterpillar 3406 engines have demonstrated extended oil drains with better acid control. Other LE 8947 trials in Caterpillar 3406 engines with high sulphur biogas also resulted in extended oil drains and better base retention.

"We are excited about the potential and excellent performance of our powerful new landfill gas engine oils. We believe that they provide solutions to the deposit control and other lube-related problems that are being experienced in the landfill gas power generation market," said Scott Schwindaman, president, Lubrication Engineers Inc.

What is MONOLEC?
MONOLEC is LE's proprietary wear reducing additive which increases oil film strength and reduces friction, heat and wear by separating moving metal components and minimizing metal-to-metal contact. Should the oil's film strength break down, MONOLEC reacts chemically to form a protective, synthetic lubricant which increases the lubricant's film strength. It is a mono-molecular liquid chemical synthetic lubricant; the molecules form a single layer on metal surfaces to protect against metal-to-metal contact. It has been proven to reduce friction by 24.2 percent. Less friction = less energy = cost savings.

Lubrication Engineers Inc. has been a leader in lubricants since 1951. LE manufactures and markets a comprehensive line of heavy-duty, premium-quality lubricants formulated from the highest-quality select base stocks. These lubricants are manufactured under an ISO9001 certified quality system at a state of the art plant in Wichita, Kan. LE's objective: increase your profitability. Its products are designed to increase profitability through: longer equipment life, extended service intervals (reduced lubricant consumption), energy reductions, reliability (less downtime), fewer repairs (fewer parts and less labor) as well as less inventory (multi-purpose products). LE products are available worldwide (outside USA, Canada and Mexico) through LE International AG's network of more than 60 distributors.
