Fluoramics recently reintroduced its high-temperature spindle grease, which was created in the 1970s but taken off the market in 2015.

In response to customer feedback and demand, the company improved its original formula by re-engineering the spindle grease with more stability and a thicker consistency.

The new grease has been made to withstand extreme heat and friction. Its chemical composition is such that when exposed to direct flame, the lubricant can remain stable with no signs of running or melting. The heatproof grease can also stay in place and active when applied to the high-friction pivot points in the braking mechanisms of trains. Other common applications for the grease include motors, brake calipers, dental drills and all high-speed rotating machinery.

"This has been an incredibly rewarding experience and has provided us with important insight into what needs people have based on the problems they face with specific applications," said Gregg Reick, engineer for Fluoramics Inc. "We were motivated to reintroduce this updated version of our original high-temperature spindle grease that caters directly to the feedback from conversations had with all of the people who reached out to us."
