Pall's Henkel Inducted into ASM College of Fellows

Dr. Daniel P. Henkel, technical director for new technologies at Pall Corporation, a global leader in filtration, separation and purification, has been inducted into the 2010 College of Fellows by ASM International. ASM is dedicated to the development and commercialization of materials that advance production techniques and facilitate innovation.

Pall Corporation was recently awarded ASM’s prestigious Engineering Materials Achievement Award (EMAA) for 2011 for porous iron aluminide technology. This novel technology marries the best properties of metal and ceramic to enable more economical production of cleaner burning fuels. Dr. Henkel was a key member of the team that propelled this product to success.

After receiving his master’s degree in metallurgy at Lehigh University, Dr. Henkel received his Ph.D. in materials science as a National Science Foundation Scholar and under a NASA training grant for studies in aluminum-lithium alloys. He has been a frequent course instructor and guest lecturer for ASM local chapters. The Fellow award will be formally presented at the annual ASM Intl. awards banquet, which will be held in Houston on October 19.
