Champion to Launch New Engine Oils

Noria news wires

Champion Oil recently announced plans to launch two new diesel engine oils. The Blue Flame Synthetic Blend API FA-4 and CK-4 series oils will be a direct replacement for the current API CJ-4 diesel engine oil specification and will have limited backward compatibility.

The new oils will be offered in lower viscosity grades, including an API 15W-40, to help maximize fuel economy without compromising durability. Both engine oils are formulated to meet the needs of the next generation of heavy-duty engines, which typically have an increased power density, reduced oil volume and extended drain intervals.

The oils are designed to keep diesel engines running longer by reducing engine wear, preventing high-temperature corrosion and controlling abrasive soot contamination while allowing for improved fuel economy and a lower total cost of ownership.

The Blue Flame Synthetic Blend oils will meet or exceed a number of specifications, including API CK-4, FA-4, CJ-4 and CI-4 Plus; ACEA E7-12 and E9-12; JASO DH-2; Volvo VDS-4.5 and VDS-4; Cummins CES 20086, CES 20081 and CES 20087; Detroit Diesel DDC93K218, DFS93K222 and DFS93K223; Ford WSS-W2C171-E; Mack EO-O Premium Plus; Renault VI RLD-3; and CAT ECF-3.
