NLGI recently celebrated 75 years of providing information pertinent to the manufacture and use of lubricating grease. The 75th annual meeting was held in Williamsburg, Va., in June, and was attended by more than 400 manufacturers, suppliers, technicians and end-users from more than 15 countries.
The opening-session keynote speaker, Brian O’Malley, gave an outstanding presentation on the human spirit by illustrating the importance of living life to its fullest. O’Malley gained his experiences by climbing Mount Everest, and serving the community as a paramedic, firefighter and police officer.
Annual Meeting
Panel discussions were held on two topics:
molybdenum disulfide in current and future original equipment manufacturer performance specifications
REACH update from a U.S. perspective, including a panel of representatives from ExxonMobil, Afton Chemical and Jeff Leiter, Esquire.
More than 20 technical presentations covered a range of topics, including grease sampling and analysis of motors; motor-operated valves; development of a rust-inhibiting, high load-carrying, multipurpose grease; a study of antioxidant for grease; and others. For a full listing of these technical presentations and to obtain a copy, visit the NLGI Web site, www.nlgi.org.
