The Lubrizol Corporation recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new building at the company's facility in Bowling Green, Ohio. The estimated $11-million investment in the new building will add 60,000 square feet to the facility.
Designed to include new process equipment for surfactants as well as four finished goods storage tanks, the new building also will have space to accommodate two additional finished goods storage tanks for future expansion needs.
"The Bowling Green community is a supportive partner of Lubrizol, and we are pleased to further expand our footprint in the community," stated Sean Stadler, Lubrizol Bowling Green plant manager. "Through this important facility investment, we are confident we will be well-positioned to provide our personal and home-care customers with differentiated products well into the future."
Working with Bowling Green's Community Development Foundation, Lubrizol was able to obtain beneficial tax incentives, which were instrumental in the company's decision to proceed with the expansion. This new building will represent Lubrizol's largest to date in the Bowling Green plant, building upon the company's previous additions of a warehouse and laboratory building in 2003 and 2005, respectively. The new building is expected to be operational later this year.
With headquarters in Wickliffe, Ohio, the Lubrizol Corporation owns and operates manufacturing facilities in 17 countries as well as sales and technical offices around the world. Founded in 1928, Lubrizol has approximately 7,000 employees worldwide. For more information, visit www.lubrizol.com.
