Maxxam Analytics recently opened a new testing facility in Edmonton, Alberta, that will provide lubricant and oil analysis services to help maintenance managers in both the industrial and heavy-duty equipment markets predict failures and prevent catastrophic maintenance events.

The new laboratory will utilize the Lube Oil Analysis Management System (LOAMS) developed by Analysts Inc., allowing anyone with Internet access to bring equipment testing and analysis data together in one application from anywhere around the world.

The laboratory also continues the global expansion of oil condition monitoring (OCM) services for parent company Bureau Veritas.

"Bureau Veritas is pleased to now offer our oil condition monitoring services to existing and new customers in Canada," said Matt Hopkinson, senior vice president of Bureau Veritas’ commodities division. "We will continue to leverage the industry expertise of Analysts Inc. and their renowned LOAMS software as we expand our OCM capabilities globally."

Oil analysis identifies trends in wear and contamination, and monitors changes in the physical properties of lubricants and hydraulic oils. Laboratory data analysts can then pinpoint equipment problems in the earliest stages and make informed recommendations that improve machine reliability, reduce maintenance and repair costs, and significantly extend equipment life.
