Valicor recently announced that its environmental services divisions, as well as the Valicor brand name, have been spun off and purchased by Wind Point Partners. The divestiture of the environmental services divisions represents the sale of one of the company's six business units. The five remaining units will now operate as Trucent out of the company's headquarters in Dexter, Michigan.

Trucent will retain the management team that was responsible for Valicor prior to the spin-off, with Tom Czartoski continuing as Trucent's CEO and chairman of the board.

"We are extremely pleased to announce our new brand name," Czartoski said. "Our new brand and identity will allow us to focus on bringing innovations to the market with the same great team of people that has long served our customers' fluid separation and renewables needs. Trucent will continue to represent what Valicor has always been known for: industry leadership, innovation and being challenge-driven and customer-obsessed."

Since the transaction, Trucent has also announced expansion plans to extend its U.S. services to include three additional locations covering Mexico, Canada and the Pacific Coast. The company's management team has committed $9 million to these investments in order to fortify and expand Trucent's fluid separation and purification technology services, which specialize in aqueous protein concentrates, industrial fluids, oleochemical production, nutraceutical lipids and dry-mill corn ethanol production.
