Measurement devices used to monitor the condition of bearings and lubricants in industrial manufacturing machines are available in one convenient package with the SKF Bearing Assessment Kit (model number CMAK 300-SL). The SKF Bearing Assessment Kit simplifies maintenance, operation, reliability and vibration analysis functions with the packaging of three instruments in a light, but durable, aluminum case.
“The SKF Bearing Assessment Kit combines three instruments that represent more than a century of experience with bearing technology,” said Torsten Bark, product line manager, SKF. “These instruments are used to measure machine vibration and temperature, as well as detect changes in the condition of lubricants.”
The SKF Bearing Assessment Kit includes the SKF Machine Condition Advisor (model number CMAS 100-SL), which measures machine vibration signals and temperature simultaneously to assess bearing condition; the SKF Infrared Thermometer (model number CMSS 3000-SL), which is a dual laser-sighted, non-contact instrument for long-range assessments; and the SKF OilCheck (model no. TMEH1), which indicates changes in the condition of both mineral and synthetic lubricants affected by water content, fuel contamination, metallic content and oxidation.
“The tools included in the SKF Bearing Assessment Kit enable operators and other manufacturing personnel to assume responsibility for the performance of the machines that they use,” commented Torsten. “Their involvement enables them to engage in more predictive activities, rather than more time-consuming repairs and troubleshooting. The resulting increase in machine reliability has proven to lead to cost reductions and improvements in workplace safety.”
