Unique to food and beverage manufacturers is the need for a machinery lubricant that is clean, translucent and approved for incidental food contact, as well as non‐tacky for frequent washdown of equipment. Sheerplex food grade lubricant – a new multipurpose premium grease created by Lubrication Engineers Inc. – meets all of these needs and more.
Sheerplex lubricant is NSF H1 registered, Kosher Pareve certified, and cleared for use in USDA‐inspected facilities. It is an aluminum complex, NLGI No. 2 grease manufactured with white mineral oils, performance additives and organo‐metallic thickeners that are approved for incidental food contact. Its smooth, non‐tacky texture ensures a clean and easy process for the frequent washdown of food equipment, and provides for outstanding pumpability in centralized lube systems.
Sheerplex food grade lubricant doesn’t contain any pigmentation, so it appears nearly transparent in use – highly desirable for equipment that requires regular visual inspection. In addition, Sheerplex features LE’s renowned anti‐wear properties, which provide protection for expensive equipment. Its corrosion inhibitors give it an excellent rating on bearing corrosion tests, providing rust protection for equipment that experiences high levels of water contamination. Sheerplex also performs well under mild acid or alkali conditions.
A wide operating temperature range of ‐20°F to 400°F means that Sheerplex has great low‐temperature mobility for use in the refrigerated areas of food plants as well as exceptional oxidation resistance at the elevated temperatures used in food processing. Thanks to its odor‐neutral, non‐pigmented, non‐tacky formulation, Sheerplex lubricant is refreshingly pleasant for service and maintenance personnel to use.
“The food industry is one of our most important markets, and our H1 lubricants provide outstanding performance for our food processing customers,” said Scott Schwindaman, president, Lubrication Engineers. “We developed Sheerplex grease based on feedback from our customers. It is a great addition to our H1 line. The reliability of food manufacturing equipment continues to improve thanks to the performance of LE’s H1 products and the knowledge and experience of our LE lube consultants.”
