Analytical Systems International recently introduced a new laboratory analyzer that quantifies hydrogen sulfide in liquids such as crude oil, fuel oil, naphtha, water, marine diesel, gasoline and other liquids.
The Model 205L analyzer incorporates Sample Transfer Stripper (STS) and ratiometric colorimetric technology to help measure hydrogen sulfide in liquids. The STS acts as a unique filter to block any mist or liquid carryover, reducing many of the maintenance requirements that often plague other analyzers.
The detection technology used in the 205L analyzer is based on chemically specific density changes. The advanced tape detector has been proven by thousands of applications worldwide, and its principle of operation is described in various ASTM methods including D4084-82, D4468-85 and D4045-81.
Specific to hydrogen sulfide with no cross-interference from other components, the typical analysis time is 15 to 25 minutes with only a push of a button required. Quantitative analysis is provided in parts per million (ppm), parts per billion (ppb) and saturation levels.
The 205L analyzer has been tested in the field for reliability and precision with no calibrations required. It features a small benchtop footprint, which is ideal for most laboratory settings.
