Lubricant manufacturer Bel-Ray recently announced the release of a new anti-seize compound that is specially formulated for use in a wide range of heavy industrial applications, including steel mills, power generation, refineries, petrochemical processing and marine industries.
The Nickel Anti-Seize Compound is an aluminum-complex grease that features high contents of nickel and graphite powders. It is free of any copper or soft reactive metals, making it ideal for use on stainless-steel fasteners and fittings.
With a simple brush-on application, the nickel compound coats metal threads and components to prevent damage caused by galling, fretting and seizing. When applied, it lowers the coefficient of friction between threads and the turning torque required by as much as 15 percent.
Engineered to withstand the most extreme conditions, the Nickel Anti-Seize Compound offers protection for metal equipment components and hardware against rust and corrosion, even under prolonged exposure to aggressive chemicals and temperatures up to 1,315 degrees C (2,400 degrees F).
The compound, which is currently available worldwide, also allows for easier assembly and disassembly of metal fasteners and fittings during equipment maintenance and repair.
