The Savant Group recently unveiled plans for its new global headquarters in Midland, Michigan, during the company’s 50th anniversary celebration. The new 53,000-square-foot building will be constructed on a 30-acre site and is scheduled to be completed in early 2021.
The $10 million investment will house Savant Labs, Tannas Co., King Refrigeration and the Institute of Materials, along with a new machine shop and the Center for Quality Assurance. The campus will include laboratory testing, manufacturing, research, technical training and administrative space for more than 85 employees. It also will allow for an anticipated 40 percent increase in job creation over the next several years.
“This is an exciting time for us as we unveil our new headquarters in the year of our 50th anniversary,” said Rebecca Cox, president of the Savant Group. “We have come a long way since Ted Selby started Savant Labs in 1969 as a materials-consulting firm. It truly shows the dedication and hard work of our employees and is a significant milestone in pursuit of our goal to continuously improve our service to our growing global customer base.”
The 50th anniversary celebration included a congressional certificate awarded by U.S. Congressman John Moolenaar’s office as well as a tribute to Selby presented by Michigan Sen. Jim Stamas.
“This special tribute recognizes Savant Labs’ 50 years and the many industry accomplishments that have set the standards across the world,” noted Sen. Stamas. “It truly is a testament to your leadership, the leadership of Savant Labs and, as you have said, a testament to your employees that make the difference.”
