WHITE PAPER:
Recent Advances in Food-Grade Greases
Despite the increasing drive for fresh and organic food, the majority of consumed food in developed countries still remains processed and thus handled by machines. Historically, most food-processing plants have used regular mineral-oil-based lubricants and greases that were not essentially food-certified by an appropriate agency. However, the industry is gradually moving toward more food-agency-certified products. This paper describes the latest trends and myths about biodegradable and food-grade lubricants, as well as some of the limitations and developmental challenges of food-grade greases.
